Pollution is a climate issue, and, as with most woes, affects people unequally, also in the UK.

Water pollution is a constant problem, from agricultural land run-offs and sewage discharge

(see www.Earthwatch.org.uk) with a million incidents of sewage discharges reported in the UK in 2024

Insurance is a climate change issue and an issue for future generations. It's a double issue. More and more people in the UK are living on potential flood plains. Who is going to insure their houses? Our own Pensions and Finance Working Group is looking at this issue.

And there's more: From time to time there are street protests across the UK (as in Bristol, see picture below) against the insurance companies that are themselves investing heavily in fossil-fuels. Howdens have cosy-looking "local" insurance offices in over 100 towns in the UK, and offices in 50 other countries. Apart from household insurance, they also insure fossil fuel companies and re-insure other insurance companies.
