The first local meeting of OGC at the Hornsey Town Hall (The Broadway, Crouch End, London N8 9JJ on 2nd May 11am (room 1). We would really love to have anybody interested to join us for Cake and Climate conversations to discuss local climate action plans.
Our NEW Pensions and finance working group) met for the first time on 24th March. We aim for a presence at some of this year's Bank AGMs, and to make links with other organizations involving seniors.
The "alternative COP30" in Colombia (First Conference on Transitioning away from fossil fuels) is getting ready (24-29 April), and so is our rep in Santa Marta. We have registered to attend, and with our local contact (John Stephenson) on the ground, we are joining others in pushing for a better solution for moving away from fossil fuels than those (not) provided at the annual COP meetings. Although our Energy Secretary Ed Miliband is not attending, his climate envoy, Rachel Kyle, is, together with representatives from over fifty other countries, a few of them (Canada, Australia, Norway and Brazil) themselves major oil exporters! Big Plastic count. The results have now been published.








World Water Day (and some dirty water actions - see picture above) took place on 22nd March .
