30.06.26 Barclays Bank HQ London: Two of our members had a useful first discussion with the Head of, and other members in, the Sustainability Investor Relations team, about the Bank’s investments in fossil fuels, and gave them a collection of children's climate-related pictures. (picture right: never underestimate the size of the task)

QUOTABLE QUOTES 2: “I think climate change [action] will be driven more quickly from the bottom up, if I’m honest. It’s the will of evolution if you wait for the government to act…When governments aren’t listening you get out and get your voice heard…so I think [climate protesters] deserve our encouragement, not our criticism.” Andy Burnham Speaking to Manchester Evening News at a student climate protest in Manchester, 24 May 2019 More quotes from Carbonbrief.org

EUROPE WITHOUT THE STARS: Ten years after Brexit, is the UK still part of Europe? Yes, we are members of Council of Europe and members of Climate Action Network (Europe). Here's a statement from European Grandparents for Climate, ahead of the Council of Europe's meeting 18-19 June.

Many of us are involved, with others, in organizing screenings of the NEB (National Emergency Briefing) film in more than 1 000 (LATEST: 1 600 2 000) locations across the UK. Currently, the Government is still not agreeing to back the NEB demand for a public screening on mainstream media. Add your voice to ensure a full public screening. 91 137 MPs, MEPs, MSs, MLAs and peers have already demanded a debate about this. If you haven't been to a screening - click here to find one near you. (It was even mentioned on Radio 4 Thought for the Day 29.07 at 7.47 am).
